About Us

We're Tammie's Dog Services and Training, and we've been the premier dog training and day care company here in Portage, IN, since 2020. We go above and beyond our customer's expectations to make sure their dogs are the best dogs they can be, and we offer obedience training, day school and much more. We have a passion for dogs and helping owners build a better bond with their pet. Our goal is to educate owners about their dog(s). How training can help make a difference in their behavior and life. Our Services include:

Puppy Classes - Tuesdays @6PM (Classes are 5 weeks for 45 min sessions) - Behaviors Learned: Name, Sit, Touch (targeting) 4-on the floor, Attention to Handler, Down, Come. Leave it, Drop it, and Leash walking. Contact for next available session dates.
Basic Obedience - Thursdays @6PM (Classes are 5 weeks for 45 min sessions) - Behaviors Learned: Name, Sit, Touch (targeting) 4-on the floor, Attention to Handler, Down, Come. Leave it, Drop it, Leash walking, and Settle. Contact for next available session dates.

House Sitting - Travel worry-free knowing your beloved dog is in safe hands with our house sitting services! Let us take the stress out of dog sitting and provide loving care in the comfort of your home. Your furry friend becomes our priority, ensuring they're happy and cared for just like they are our very own. Dog Boarding - 24/7 Limited Space - Must have booking ahead of time! We promote a healthy atmosphere for your pet. We will provide your dog with a raised bed or blankets, unless you specify otherwise. Feel free to bring your own dog items if needed. Fresh water will be provided and several opportunities to play, exercise and potty. A personality profile will be created so we have information about your dogs temperament and match them with the right playmates in day care. All boarding dogs that participate in daycare must demonstrate adequate social skills and ability to play safe. Otherwise, your pet will have one on one time playing/snuggling with a staff member.
Dog Daycare - M-F 6AM-6PM, Limited Availability! Please call ahead to learn more about our availability! - Day Care is for helping dogs socially with other dogs no matter what their age. Dogs spend part of the day learning to settle in a crate or kennel, whole other dogs are out playing. We play in small groups that fit and match your dogs personality and size. Playtime is closely supervised. We all learn to share toys, play ball, mind puzzle games, redirected with basic behaviors, leash walking while we learn to potty outside. All daycare dogs that participate in daycare must demonstrate adequate social skills and ability to play safe. Otherwise, your pet will have one on one time playing/snuggling with a staff member. * No daycare on the weekends! - Late fee is applied for pick up after 5PM see Tammie for details
Dog Walks - Drop-Ins for bathroom breaks - 30 min walk - $25, 45 mins $40; 60 mins $55. Schedule 5 walks at 1-time receive an additional discount of $5 off per walk. We keep your furry friends happy and healthy with professional, friendly, and affordable services. Our dog walking is flexible and customizable to fit your schedule. Lynn Roe is a dedicated life-long animal advocate with roots stretching back to her childhood involvement in 4-H where she raised show rabbits. Her experiences span across various spectrum's of animal care, having nurtured a deep knowledge and respect for creatures great and small on a friend's farm, and honed her veterinary skills as a kennel attendant and vet assistant under Dr. Larry Mcafee in the 1980s.

With years of management under her belt at a pet store, Lynn is well-versed in a variety of animals, including saltwater and freshwater fish, small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Her expertise extends to pharmaceuticals, thanks to her tenure as a pharmacy technician. Lynn's commitment to care is further bolstered by a Master's in Social Work leading to 19 years as an adolescent counselor, intertwined with years of dog rescue work.

Now, Lynn focuses on canine well-being, certified in CPR for dogs, canine nutrition, and is advancing her knowledge in dog and cat acupressure and holistic medicine, driven by her belief in its life-prolonging benefits. Her journey with her special Husky, Bucket, who bravely battled bone cancer, reinforced her dedication to fighting for animal wellness.

Passionate about educating fur parents on the health of their pets, Lynn offers canine massages, food nutrition classes, dog walking, private drop-ins, and pet sitting services via Tammie's Dog Service. She's a cornerstone of the team, contributing to the well-being of dogs in daycare and boarding with the care and love she believes every four-legged friend deserves.
